Dr. Karen Massey to Preach at HHBC

Dr. Karen Massey will lead us in worship on Sunday, July 10, and share a message of hope. Dr. Massey is the Associate Dean of Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology, associate professor of Church Ministry, and holds the Watkins Christian Foundation Endowed Chair.

Before her arrival at McAfee, she served as the associate pastor of Northside Drive Baptist Church in Atlanta, where she continues to worship and attend. At McAfee, Dr. Massey teaches in the area of practical ministry, with her major areas of interest being faith development and worship. She also teaches spiritual formation, church administration, several Christian education courses, and women’s studies. Dr. Massey has released a book titled And Your Daughters Shall Prophesy: Sermons by Women in Baptist Life.

Dr. Massey enjoys challenges, which have included bungee jumping off of a 12-story platform and zip lining through the jungles of Costa Rica. She is also a dog lover and has one shih tzu named Murphy. And, as a UGA graduate, she is a rabid DAWG fan!

We welcome Dr. Massey to HHBC and look forward to the good words that she will share with us.
